What: This multi-media seminar clearly demonstrates how to use design options in the Florida Building Code to provide increased fire protection while controlling construction costs. They include actual cost studies between sprinklered and non-sprinklered buildings. 3 interactive workshops that include an actual design study for a 4 story office building. Seminars cover relevant sections of the Florida Building Code including:
• Occupancy Classifications
• Special Occupancies
• Height and area calculations
• Fire Resistive Construction
• Fire Sprinkler Requirements
• Exiting and means of egress
Also includes the latest residential sprinkler requirements of the 2009 International Residential Codes.

Upon completion of the seminar architects will be able to:
• Determine the inadequacies of current basic building and fire code requirements

It also contains design information on the various NFPA installation standards for sprinkler systems.
